Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Thursday ruled out the baseless allegations made in a joint statement by two Arab officials in Manama, Bahrain against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In reaction to the recent baseless claims made in a joint statement by two Arab officials in Manama, Bahrain against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kanaani said that such claims are biased, counterproductive, and arising from specific goals and motives.

Inviting the mentioned countries to properly understand the regional equations and pay attention to the role and position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the West Asian region, he considered their futile insistence on continuing the wrong path of Iranophobia out of the wisdom, noting that this path just serves the interests of the Zionist regime in the region.

He highlighted that maintaining and stabilizing nuclear achievements is the inalienable and legal right of the Islamic Republic of Iran and that defense and missile capabilities are based on a strategic policy within the framework of the Defense Doctrine of the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that it is not a threat to their neighbors in any way.

Emphasizing the will and goodwill of the Islamic Republic of Iran in maintaining and expanding relations with neighbors as well as Arab and Islamic countries, Kanaani termed the efforts of the 13th government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this regard another apparent and strong reason for Iran's goodwill.
