Tehran, IRNA – First vice president emphasized here on Sunday that the Tehran-Baghdad agreements need to be implemented urgently, ensuring Iraq that Iran is seriously after expanding and deepening comprehensive ties with Iraq.

In his meeting with the visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber said that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s relations with Iraq are not simply neighborly ties, as they are very deep-rooted, and the independence, wellbeing, and security of Iraq are of great importance for the Iranian people and political officials.


The first vice president meanwhile emphasized the enemies of the proximity of the two governments and nations fear their friendly ties, but Tehran and Baghdad should take extreme care not to permit the intriguers and those who wish to sow the seeds of discord, who are the ill-wishers of the two nations, harm the historical, religious, and brotherly relations of our two nations and countries.


Mokhber also referred to the issue of dust storms, saying that solving the problem needs cooperation. 


The Iraqi prime minister, too, referred to the abundant historical, religious, and cultural commonalities of the Iranian and Iraqi nations, arguing that there are lots of grounds for macro-scale projects for bilateral cooperation, and therefore, Baghdad is ready for speedy implementation of the reached agreements.


Al-Kadhimi also referred to the facilities provided for the Iranian pilgrims of Imam Hussain (p).
