Moqaddasi said that almost 36 million tons of goods worth $25.5 billion were traded between Iran and other countries in the spring.
That was up by 19.5% compared with the corresponding period last year, he added.
The official said that Iran’s exports accounted for 27.7 million tons of the total traded goods and were worth $13.69 billion, which was up by 21% compared with the last spring.
Moqaddasi explained that imports also increased by 18% compared with the last spring, as they accounted for 8.154 tons of traded goods worth $12.464 billion.
However, he added, with exports surpassing imports, the trade surplus was positive and stood at $605 million.
The official also said that China, Iraq, Turkey, the UAE, and India were respectively the top importers of Iranian goods in the spring.
China took the lion share by importing $4.214 billion worth of goods from Iran, he added.
Moqaddasi explained that the UAE, China, Turkey, India and Germany were, respectively the top exporters of goods to Iran.
On foreign transit, the official said that 3.674 million tons of goods were transited via Iran during the spring season.
He said the figure was up by 32% and marks a great achievement in the growth of foreign transit through Iran.
