Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Monday underlined the significance of boosting relations with Nepal in different economic, political and cultural areas.

The president made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with the new accredited Nepalese Ambassador to Tehran Tapas Adhikari.

President Raisi referred to cultural commonalities between Iran and Nepal which he believed can serve as a base for further expansion of relations in different areas.

The new Nepalese ambassador, for his part, voiced his country’s readiness for promotion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Also in a meeting in the same day with Burundi's new Ambassador to Tehran Gerard Ntahorwaroye Bikebako, the Iranian president said that Iran’s foreign policy is based on expansion of fair relations with the world.
