Western officials and media outlets have adopted a position that indicates a sense of urgency in the West's camp to finish the Vienna talks.
Ned Price, the spokesperson for the United States Department of State, ignored the fact that the US is the wrongdoer who caused the current situation in implementing the nuclear deal officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), threatening that Washington may withdraw from the indirect talks in Vienna.
Moreover, the top negotiators from Britain and France wrote unconstructive tweets. Western reporters also claimed that Iran proposed new demands. All such hue and cry by the West shows that they are not able to take political decisions to pave the way for reaching a reliable and stable agreement.
The Western sides involved in the Vienna talks, including Britain, France, Germany plus the United States, have indicated from the get-go of the Joint Commission meetings of the JCPOA that they do not have any practical proposals and that they are not able to make political decisions on remaining issues.
Reuters has published unreal reports, claiming that Iran's stance has become more harsh and irreconcilable since the last return of Iranian top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani to Tehran, alleging that the Islamic Republic has proposed new demands.
On the other hand, elements affiliated to the Zionist regime have fueled their campaign against Tehran, trying to propagate anti-Iran allegations in media outlets.
On the other side, the Iranian negotiators emphasized the need for political decision-making by the West to pave the ground for achieving consensus to resolve the outstanding issues and reach final deal within a few days.
Realities on the ground show that delegations from Iran, the European Union, and the P4+1 group (Britain, France, China, Russia plus Germany) have succeeded in finalizing a draft text. The Iranian side has proposed constructive suggestions, but the Western powers try to turn the element of time to a leverage to put pressure on the Iranian negotiating team.
The West also tries to put the blame of possible failure of the negotiations on Iran in order to avoid responsibility in this respect.
The Iranian delegation has emphasized that Bagheri kani has not proposed any new demands following his trip to Tehran and that the US and three European nations are expected to decide on remaining issues of difference.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reacted to unfounded deadlines proposed by the US and its allies, saying that Washington has been out of from the JCPOA for years, so Tehran wants to get assurances that it will not leave the deal once more.
Ruling out the United States' claims on alternative options, Khatibzadeh noted that such alternative options have been proven to be in vain; therefore, the White House is expected to make political decisions.
