Tabriz, IRNA - The head of Customs Administration of East Azarbaijan Province said on Saturday that the value of export from this province in the northwest of Iran increased 42 percent in the initial 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (ending on March 21) compared to the same period of time the last year.

Leila Orangi said in an interview with IRNA on Saturday that commodities worth $1,239 million were exported from the province in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year.

She added that the most important export destinations of this province are Turkey with 567,000 tons of goods worth more than $468 million, Iraq with 440,000 tons of goods worth $282 million, Armenia with 390,000 tons of goods worth more than $76 million, Afghanistan with 91,000 tons of goods worth more than $63 million, and the Republic of Azerbaijan with 56,000 tons of goods worth more than $47 million.

Orangi added that plastic products, steel products, edible fruits, cereal products, copper and its products, glass and its products, sweets, and chocolate have been the most important export items of East Azerbaijan customs during the mentioned period.
