Belgrade, IRNA – The dean of University of Belgrade has said that he is ready to visit Iran to sign cultural and scientific agreements which are already prepared.

Vladan Jokic made the remarks in a meeting held on Tuesday evening with Iran’s Ambassador to Belgrade Rashid Hassanpour.

In the meeting, the Serbian official stressed the need to develop scientific cooperation between the two sides’ universities.

Further, he stressed that a mutual agreement could be effective in deep cultural understanding, development of scientific cooperation, implementation of joint projects, and exchange of students and professors.

For his part, the Iranian ambassador presented a draft of mutual agreement.

Hassanpour noted that number of Iranian university students in Serbia is increasing.

Referring to Tehran-Belgrade cultural cooperation which dates back to three decades ago, the ambassador said that expansion of cultural and scientific ties is valuable.

Founded in 1863, University of Belgrade was first put on the Shanghai list in 2012.
