Tehran, IRNA – A member of women's national volleyball team of Iran who has recently joined Portuguese volleyball club AJM FC Porto, referring to the development of this sport in Iran and the good talents of Iranian players, said that great European teams have accepted the hijab of Muslim women.

In an interview with IRNA, Zahra Moghani referred to her joining AJM FC Porto and said that the Portuguese team is celebrated in Portugal and also partakes in European champions.


The youngest Iranian volleyball player in European champions league, added that Iranian women are so talented in this sports and that the number of Iranian women's volleyball players in European teams is increasing, which shows that Iran's volleyball is on the right path.

Moghani said that she and other legionnaires represent the hijab of Iranian girls; however, in the past, some teams had problems with the Islamic hijab, but now they have accepted Iranian girls' hijab.

She added that this point shows that the presence of Iranian girls with Islamic hijab in well-known and great teams is a success and the European teams  have accepted these conditions.  

On Jan 1, 2022, Moghani joined the famous Portuguese team of Porto.

Moghani, 18, is the youngest Iranian volleyball player attending European champions league.
