Vienna, IRNA - Remarks made by Iranian top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani on advancements in approaching views in the Vienna talks last night have made some media outlets so excited that they distorted his comments.

According to IRNA correspondent in Vienna, Austria, following different meetings with representatives of the P4+1 group (Britain, France, Russia, China plus Germany), Bagheri Kani addressed reporters in front of Palais Coburg on Saturday, saying that the sides have succeeded in reducing number of issues of difference in draft text for final agreement.

He made the remarks when Enrique Mora, European Union's envoy in the Vienna talks, has not announced new information on the eighth round of the Joint Commission meetings of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) since December 30, so the media practitioners have been waiting for fresh information vehemently.

Increased number of meetings among delegations has been seen as a new phase of progress and decision-making; therefore, correspondents stipulate that there may be an important development in the Vienna talks for reviving the 2015 nuclear deal and lifting anti-Iran sanctions.

Iranian negotiator's Saturday remarks have been circulated in TV networks and social media platforms rapidly. Social media activists welcomed a potential progress in the Vienna talks.

Certain media outlets have published IRNA's news background as Bagheri Kani's remarks, so they attributed distorted comments to the Iranian top nuclear negotiator.

There are almost 40 desks in the media section in front of Palais Coburg in Vienna. Nearly 20 international correspondents cover reports on the historical event.

Reporters are doing their job in a hard and cold situation in winter. So, some of them may try to have a say and break the silence around the talks for lifting sanctions and reviving nuclear deal in a bid to dominate media space.
