An Airbus 320 aircraft of Iran Air arrived in Lahore the capital of Punjab province on Saturday afternoon from Mashad following the efforts of the Consulate General in Lahore.
A direct flight from Mashad to Lahore by Iran Air is another step to develop relations between Iran and Pakistan, especially in the fields of trade and tourism.
A special ceremony to welcome the launch of flight from Mashad to Lahore was held at Allama Iqbal International Airport which was attended by Pakistani aviation officials, as well as Morteza Frati, Acting Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore, and Mohammad Parsanjad, Head of Iran Air in Pakistan.
According to the schedule, the flight will be operated every Saturday from Mashad to Lahore.

Lahore is one of the important cities of Pakistan and is known as the 'cultural heart' of the country, so the resumption of these flights can be an effective step in the development of bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan.
With the establishment of Iran Air flight from Mashad to Lahore, the number of direct flights between Iran and Pakistan increased to six.
Currently, Iran Air operates one weekly flight from Tehran to Karachi.
