Russia Muftis Council: Gen Soleimani well-known for his anti-terrorism moves

Moscow, IRNA - Chairman of Russia Muftis Council, Nafigulla Ashirov, has said that Lt General Soleimani is well-known worldwide for his great measures particularly his fight against terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS).

Not only Iran but also all Muslim world are proud of him (Gen Soleimani), Ashirov told IRNA in an interview on Saturday.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force commander Lieutenant General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, the acting commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) - known as the Hashd al-Shaabi - were targeted then assassinated in Baghdad by US attack on January 3, 2020.

Soon after the assassination, the IRGC carried out an operation and targeted the US airbase of Ain al-Assad in Anbar Province in western Iraq in response to the US terrorist attack.

As Ashirov noted, Gen Soleimani enjoys worldwide popularity.

By assassinating Gen Soleimani and al-Mohandes, the US did commit an anti-human crime against the World of Islam, he underlined.

World of Islam will never forget the memory of Gen Soleimani.
