Tehran, IRNA – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that nine Iranian nationals who were stuck at Syrian border when trying to emigrate were coming back home on Saturday.

Iran's Foreign Ministry, the ambassadors of Iran to Turkey and Syria, and embassies of Turkey and Syria in Tehran joined forces to help these Iranians to return home, Khatibzadeh said in a statement on Saturday.

Media reports in recent months said that nine Iranian nationals who were in Turkey had been arrested by the Turkish police.

They had introduced themselves as Syrian Kurds and the Turkish police, according to the reports, had submitted them to terrorist groups in northern Syria.

Families of these nine Iranians had protested in front of Turkish Embassy in Tehran and called on Turkey to repatriate them.
