Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Saturday underlined the need for Iran and Oman to expand bilateral trade relations.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with Omani Deputy Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalifa Al Harthy.

Noting that seeking more enhanced relations with neighboring countries tops the priority of President Ebrahim Raisi’s foreign policy, the foreign minister stressed the special position of Oman among the Iranian neighbors.

Amirabdollahian said that Iran feels committed to dialogue and taking political solutions to bilateral and regional problems. He voiced Iran’s readiness for dialogue with regional countries to upgrade bilateral relations.

He expressed hope that collective efforts of all regional countries, Iran and Oman in particular, will pave the way for finding a settlement to the crisis in Yemen.

The Omani deputy foreign minister, for his part, said that his country welcomes and supports peaceful measures and negotiations for alleviating the regional problems.

He also wished a speedy end to the Yemeni crisis.
