Sofa, directed by Eshteshami, experienced its third international presence on the Garoa Awards and won Ehteshami the best director award.
The short film had previously participated in British film festival Lift Off, First-Time Filmmakers in Toronto, and Crossroads International Short Film Festival in Turkey.
Sofa was nominated for best director, best screenplay, best cinematography, and best costume design and make-up.
The short film describes the story of a boy who had to afford furniture for the marriage proposal ceremony of his sister.
