Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh has underlined that the Islamic Republic will not tolerate the illegitimate presence of the Zionist regime near Iranian borderlines.

Khatibzadeh made the remark during his weekly briefing on Monday morning, saying, "We have told our neighboring states both friendly and through different channels that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not tolerate the illegitimate presence of the Zionist regime near its borders."

The Zionist regime has fed its roots in blood, violence, and terrorism; so, the criminal regime steps into somewhere that it can conduct bombing and terrorist operations or hatches plots and put forward coup attempts, the spokesman said.

From the southern Persian Gulf region to northern neighbors of Iran, wherever the Zionist regime entered, the situation is marred with terrorism and conspiracies, he added.
He called on all regional states to pay more attention to the illegal presence of the criminal regime in the West Asia region.

Pointing to recent military drills by the Azerbaijan Republic and Turkey, Khatibzadeh said that such maneuvers are routinely carried out by different countries and that they are natural if other neighboring states have been informed of the same.

The Islamic Republic of Iran announces its military drills to friends and neighboring countries each time, he said, adding that this kind of attitude shows the maturity of states.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that Tehran is pursuing the issue of Iranian diplomats kidnapped in Lebanon 39 years ago and that the Iranian authorities will continue efforts in this respect.

As to a recent visit by Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to Pakistan, Khatibzadeh said that the trip was made at the invitation of the Pakistani Army to expand amicable ties.
