Khomein, IRNA – 13th International Iranian Stone Exhibition (aka Iran Stone Expo) opened on Tuesday in the city of Mahallat, located in the central Markazi Province, on October 12-15.

This exhibition is being held for four days in an area of ​​90,000 square meters with an exhibition area of ​​24,000 meters, said the executive director of the 13th International Iranian Stone Exhibition (aka Iran Stone Expo) Mohammad Hallajian.

Some 400 domestic and foreign companies have attended this event, of which 95% are domestic, he added.

Hallajian said that more than 20,000 tons of stones from 300 mines of 18 provinces is being showcased at the exhibition.

The executive director of the 13th International Iranian Stone Exhibition said that companies from India, Turkey, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Bangladesh and Qatar have attended in this international expo.

According to official statistics, Iranian stone industry has high potential, proper reserves, color variation and superior quality compered to rivals, but it needs support and incentives to realize these potentials.
