Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili in a decree appointed Ali Naderi as the new managing director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Naderi replaced Mohammad Reza Norouzpour who had been the chief of IRNA since June 6, 2020.

In his decree, Esmaili referred to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's emphasis on the importance and sensitivity of enemies' propaganda campaign against Iranian nation.

Naderi had earlier been a member of Iran Newspaper editorial board, member of Iran Online website, supervisor of Iran Newspaper in Isfahan, and member of Raja News website policy making board.
