Tehran, IRNA – Armenia, a northwestern neighbor to Iran, which sees Yerevan-Tehran relations as really important due to their deep cultural ties and great economic capacities in Iran as a regional power, is utterly determined to deepen bilateral friendly relations more than before.

Importance of expansion of Yerevan's relations with Tehran was once again underlined on October 3, 2021, by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Armenian News Agency "ARMENPRESS", Pashinyan has announced on Sunday that his country attaches great importance to Iran and will not take part in any plot against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In his remarks, Pashinyan described Iran as Armenia's partner.

Reminding the dissolution of Soviet Union in 1990s, Pashinyan said his country would never forget the years when Iran became one of best friends to Armenia.

In line with strengthening cooperation between Yerevan and Tehran, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan arrived in Tehran on October 4 to hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian on bilateral issues and important regional questions.

Recently, Mirzoyan has also met with Iran's Ambassador to Yerevan Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.

In the meeting, the Armenian foreign minister highlighted strategic importance of relations with Iran.
