-- Iran’ six-month car production almost 430,000
Three major Iranian carmakers, namely, Iran Khodro Company (IKCO), SAIPA Group, and Pars Khodro, produced 429,414 vehicles during the six months to September 22, the figures released by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade indicated.
According to statistics, the production by the said companies increased 0.8 percent compared to the previous year’s same six months which was 425,695.
During the said six months, IKCO manufactured 205,934 vehicles, which was 2.7 percent less than the corresponding figure for the previous year.
-- CBI provides $9.5b in six months for import of basic goods, medicine
The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) provided $9.5 billion for importing basic goods as well as medicine in the six months to September 22, a deputy CBI head announced. Shiva Raveshi said the government allocated $8 billion for the supply of basic goods and medicine and $1.5 billion also was supplied for the imports of COVID-19 vaccine.
“The $9.5 billion that was provided during the said six months is almost equal to the total currency provided for the imports of basic goods in the previous Iranian year (ended on March 20),” She said.

He said, however, 21-carat gold jewelry is also made, to a lesser extent, in this city.

-- Iran Envoy, Bulgarian FM Call For Boosting Tehran-Sofia Trade Ties
Iranian envoy to Sofia Seyyed Mohammad Javad Rasouli and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Svetlan Stoev have called for holding the 20th joint economic, scientific commission in Tehran.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on bilateral, regional, and international issues.
The meeting took place at the request of the Bulgarian side, following a telephone conversation between the Bulgarian Foreign Minister and his Iranian counterpart Hussein Amir-Abdollahian.
-- Kazakhstan-Iran Trade Rises Despite COVID-19 Pandemic
Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) has reported that the country’s export to Uzbekistan has risen 370 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
Uzbekistan was Iran’s second export destination after the Russian Federation among the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the mentioned five-month period.
The report added, the second meeting of expert talks to review the draft preferential trade agreement and the list of preferred data-x-items between Iran and Uzbekistan has been held via video conference on late Tuesday, during which the two sides discussed the provisions of the draft and provided views on planning for the next round of the meeting in October.

Iranian freestyle wrestlers Hasan Yazdani, and Amir Hussain Zare won their matches against Kazakhstan and Amerian opponents in the World Wrestling Championship 2021 in Oslo, Norway.
Hassan Yazdani in the 86 kg won his first match in the World Wrestling Championship against an opponent from Kazakhstan in less than 3 minutes 12-2.
Hassan Yazdani in his second fight against the representative of Puerto Rico won 10-0 and reached the semifinals
He faced Russian wrestler Artur Naifonov and beat him 8-2 in the semifinals and to take on U.S. wrestler David Taylor in the final.
Meanwhile, Amirhussein Zare in the weight category of 125 kg in the second round defeated the U.S. representative in less than 2 minutes 10-0 and advanced to the next round and won Turkish wrestler Taha Akgül 4-0.

-- “Botox” named best debut feature at Tirana filmfest
Iranian director Kaveh Mazaheri’s acclaimed movie “Botox” has won the award for best debut feature at the 19th Tirana International Film Festival in Albania. The film was screened in Eye on TIFF, a section dedicated to the debut feature film competition.
“Botox”, a co-production between Iran and Germany, is about sisters Akram and Azar. Both lie about their brother’s disappearance, telling everyone he fled to Germany. Day after day, the lie becomes bigger and more unmanageable, leading everyone to a dark and mysterious destiny. “Botox” has been screened at several international film festivals and won awards in some of them.

Iran pavilion at the prestigious Expo 2020 Dubai has been hailed by visitors, CHTN reported on Saturday. Visitors are offered to soak up the ancient land in terms of rituals, handicrafts, cultural heritage, and travel destinations. The pavilion also reveals more about medical tourism, novel startups, and off-the-beaten tracks.
The pavilion is planned to showcase each Iranian province’s strengths and assets in tourism, cultural heritage, handicrafts, as well as its natural sites, traditional ceremonial practices, and historical significance.
-- Tehran derby to be held on Matchweek 8: IPL
Tehran derby between Esteghlal and Persepolis football teams will be held on Matchweek 8 of Iran Professional League. The draw ceremony for the 2021/2022 season of the Iran Professional League was held on Oct. 2. Esteghlal will host Persepolis on Matchweek 8 of IPL but the exact time of the match has not been revealed. The 2021/22 season will kick off on Oct. 19. A total of 16 teams will participate at the new season.
Persepolis are defending champions and look to win the IPL title for the sixth in a row. Fajr Sepasi and Havadar will take part in the upcoming season as the newcomers after secured promotion to the league last season. Machine Sazi and Saipa were also relegated from the IPL to the First Division. Iran Professional League is the highest division of professional football in the west Asian country. It is the top-level football league in Iran since its foundation in 2001.
