Tehran, IRNA – At 12 midnight Tuesday, the official clock of the country was pulled back an hour to save energy.

According to a law ratified in the year 2007 at the Iranian Parliament, the official clock of the country is advanced an hour at 12 midnight of March 21 every year so that in the first half of the Iranian year that the days are longer and the nights are shorter, maximum advantage of the daylight will be made.

Then on August 22, at 12 midnight, the clocks are set back on their previous status, or pulled back an hour.

The National Aviation Organization, too, has announced that the passengers should come to the airports in accordance with the country’s official clock and the recorded takeoff time on their tickets, both for the local and for the international flights.
