Tehran, IRNA - The director-general of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO)’s Office of Arabian and African Countries said on Saturday that Iran's exports of home appliances rise up to $300 million worth each year.

Speaking in a gathering  in Tehran on Saturday, Farzad Piltan said that turnover of the home appliance industry is about $6 billion.

H added that “This industry has provided 300,000 direct jobs as well as one million indirect jobs in the country and 500 manufacturing companies are currently active in this sector.”

Piltan said that Iran 's exports of home appliances  to other countries hit  $300 million each year, mainly including Iraq and Afghanistan.

The director-general of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO)’s Office of Arabian and African Countries added that water cooler, water heaters, chinaware and glass appliances are among the most important export products of Iran to Iraq.

According to  the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the value of Iran’s non-oil trade rose 38 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22) as compared to the same period of time in the past year.

Accordingly, Iran has traded 59.3 million tons of non-oil products worth $34 billion with other countries in the mentioned period, which indicates also 14 percent growth in terms of weight on an annual basis.
