Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi extended a message on Wednesday to his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulating him on the occasion of his country's Independence Day on September 1.

In his message, President Raisi also felicitated Uzbek nation and government on the important day.

The President also hoped that regional cooperation would help bring about more stability, wealth, and security to the region.

He further expressed hope that Iran-Uzbekistan strong roots and will of the two  countries’ officials would prepare the ground for growing interactions.

At the end of his message, Raisi wished prosperity and success for his Uzbek counterpart and the people of that country.

Since 1991, Uzbekistan celebrates its Independence Day or National Day on September 1.
