Tehran, IRNA - Zionist regime's Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's efforts to form a regional military mechanism against the Islamic Republic of Iran would bring no fruit for the so-called Arab-Hebrew coalition, an Iranian political expert believes.

Hassan Hanizadeh, an expert on West Asian affairs, told IRNA on Tuesday that the Zionist PM proposed formation of a NATO-like alliance between Israel and Persian Gulf littoral states plus Jordan, and Bennett also traveled to Washington to meet with US President Joe Biden, but the meeting has had no tangible achievement for him.

Other developments such as recent terrorist attack at Kabul airport, as well as the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, have overshadowed Bennett's trip to the US, the analyst mentioned.

The Zionist premier visited the US to urge the American authorities to follow up Israeli policies against Iran, he said, noting that Bennett pursues three objectives, including creating an alliance against the Islamic Republic, bringing Washington into Tel Aviv's front against Tehran, and forming a regional mechanism to confront the Iranians, but he was not successful in reaching any of the goals.

The US's main priorities
Hanizadeh went on to say that Bennett attempted to dissuade Biden from going ahead with the nuclear talks with Iran in Vienna, Austria, but he faced the White House's negative response.

Since the United States prioritizes containment of China and reaction to recent developments in Afghanistan, Israel and in general the whole Middle East seems not to be the Americans' top priority in this juncture, he added.

Localized policies in region
The Zionist regime also tried to uphold coordination with the US government on the Palestinian issue, but the Biden administration calls on Bennett to improve relations with the Palestinian Authority to find ways out the deadlock, Hanizadeh noted.

According to the expert, the West Asia region cannot accept creation of an Arab-Hebrew alliance against an important regional power such as Iran.

The US is not keen to maintain military presence in the Middle East region, so Washington is willing to lead regional states to resolve differences through cooperation not confrontation, he argued.

There is no a unified front when it comes to dealing with powerful Iran because some neighboring states such as Oman and Qatar prefer having amicable ties with the Islamic Republic, while there are certain Arab governments, which do not pursue good neighborliness with Iran; therefore, those, who do not have hostile relations with the country, will not accept any kind of military confrontation, the analyst said.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that heterogeneity between Arab states and the Zionist regime in terms of culture, army and other aspects is an important obstacle in the way of forming an alliance between these parties, Hanizadeh concluded.
