Tehran, IRNA - Iran Aviation Industries Organization CEO Brigadier General Afshin Khajefard said that export is a part of Iran’s defense diplomacy, as many countries demand to purchase defense equipment from Iran.

In an interview in the wake of Defense Industry Day on Sunday, Khajefard described Iran’s aviation industry to be in very good situation, as there have been great achievements in the sector.

He said that Iran’s aviation industry has managed to keep it products operation and even enhance their throughput.

Domestic defensive aviation products in Iran are produced in accordance with the country’s capacity to respond to threats, as it can be seen in the recent mass production of drones, the CEO noted.

He underlined that Iran’s export of defense equipment is based on humanitarian purposes and covers conventional equipment.

He went on to say that the reason behind Iran’s success in defense industry is that it has provided an end-to-end chain of demand, design, supply, production, and training.

The lack of such a complete chain is a reason why some industry sectors in Iran haven’t been successful in keeping up with the latest developments, as said by Khajefard.
