Tehran, IRNA – Iranian newly-elected President Ebrahim Raisi on Sunday appointed Mohammad Mokhber as first vice-president.

Mokhber has chaired the Executive Headquarters of Imam's Directive (Setad) since 2007; a foundation that made Iran’s first COVID-19 vaccine – Cov-Iran Barekat.

He replaces Eshaq Jahangiri who served eight years as Iranian first vice-president under former president Hassan Rouhani.
