Tehran, IRNA – Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Mohammed Barkindo is to attend inauguration ceremony of Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raisi, Iran ambassador to Nigeria said.

Mohammad Alibak in a Twitter message referred to his constructive and friendly meeting with Mohammed Barkindo.

He noted that Barkindo has appreciated Iran constructive role in OPEC decisions.

Earlier, the spokesman for Iran’s Parliament presiding board, Nezamoddin Mousavi, said that 115 officials from 73 countries would attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday.

The Guardian Council signed the president-elect's credentials and submitted it to the office of Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday.

He said the ceremony for authorization of credentials of presidency for Raisi would be held on Tuesday and his inauguration ceremony would be held on Thursday.

Afterwards, the parliament would proceed with the motion of confidence for the ministers of Raisi’s cabinet, he added.

Raisi was elected President of Iran in the June 18 presidential election, earning over 62 percent of votes.
