Tokyo, IRNA – President of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran Reza Salehi Amiri in a meeting with President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach expressed congratulations for holding Olympic Games amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Salehi Amiri presented a report of the activities done for the Iranian teams dispatched to Olympic Games.

He also referred to launching and equipping a museum on the history of sports in Iran. 

He lauded presence of Iranian women in Olympic Games, saying they 11 quotas and 10 female athletes were dispatched to the event.

Meanwhile, Bach appreciated Iranian sports officials’ presence in this meeting, hoping for further development of sports during the next Iranian government term.

Bach expressed satisfaction over growth in Iranian sports.
