Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in separate telephone talks on Tuesday congratulated Eid al-Adha to his Pakistani, Turkish, Omani, as well as South African counterparts.

During the phone conversations, Zarif exchanged views on bilateral relations and the latest issues of mutual interest.

He congratulated Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) to Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Mevlut Cavusoglu, Sayyid Badr bin Hamid bin Hamood Al Busaidi and Naledi Pandor foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkey, Oman as well as South Africa.

Eid al-Adha is celebrated worldwide by the Muslim community to commemorate the total submission of Prophet Ibrahim to God's will for sacrificing his son, Ismail.

The festival is marked by collective prayers and donating meat, particularly to needy people.
