Iran calls for preventing civil war in Afghanistan

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister's Special Envoy for Afghanistan Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian on Wednesday said that Iran urges resolving the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan through peaceful means and preventing civil war in the state.

In a telephone conversation with the former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, Taherian exchanged views on the latest security development and the situation in the country.

During the conversation, the two sides discussed the peace talks between the warring parties in Afghanistan.
