Tehran, IRNA – Two short films and two animations by Iranian directors received awards in their latest global debut, as many other Iranian productions attend several international festivals.

Sky Sun, Tile Sun directed by Ziba Arzhang won the Best Animation Film Award in the 10th edition of TracceCcinematografiche Film Festival held on July 13-18 in Rom.

The animation which contains no dialog depicts the life of the people who live on a tiled wall and become involved in an unwanted war. They have lost their sun and their life has gone dark.

White Whale, an animation directed by Amir Mehran, attended five international festivals. The 15th River Film Festival in Padua, Italy, the 37th Cartoon Clun Festival in Rimini, Italy, the 9th Constantine’s Gold Coin in Serbia, Zabut International Animated Short Film Festival in Sicily, Italy and the 15th ANIMART Festival in Hydra Island, Greece are the international festivals that this animation has attended.

It has so far received the best animation film awards from Warsaw Film Festival in Poland and Frames Film Festival in India. It portrays the efforts of a lonely man who is seeking to fine his old friends.

The short film Penetration directed by Shahab al-Din Hosseinpour was accepted to be screened in Portland Horror Film Festival.

The film has also attended the Around the World in 20 Shorts Festival in Spain and Onyko Film Awards in Estonia. The film is about a young couple who move to a cursed house and face abnormal happenings.

Another Iranian short film, entitled Kids, is going to be screened in the Fresco Film Festival in Armenia. The festival focuses on movies depicting war, violence and ecologic catastrophes, supporting peace, sympathy, humanism and universal values.

The film tells the story of a brother and a sister who are affected by the poisonous environment made in their home by their parents. They become the first ever siblings who go to court for separation.
