COVID-19 vaccine trafficking bands dismantled in Iran

Tehran, IRNA - Iran's Ministry of Intelligence on Wednesday announced the identification and arrest of the members of the several networks of smuggling and fraud in the field of illegal purchase, sale, and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Several smuggling and fraud networks were identified in the field of illegal purchase, sale, and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, particularly foreign vaccines (China's Sinopharm and AstraZeneca) and banned (American Pfizer), the Ministry of Intelligence said in a statement.

It added that numbers of COVID-19 vaccine traffickers were arrested.

Besides discovering significant amounts of fake COVID-19 vaccines, it noted that some fake drugs such as Remdesivir and Actemra ampoules were also seized from the trafficker's hideout.
