Chaudhry Muneeb-ul-Haq made the remarks during a meeting with Director of Iranian Cultural Center Jafar Ronas in Lahore on Saturday.
Referring to the important position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan's foreign policy, he said, "Our culture and language in Pakistan especially in Punjab is derived from Iran that is why Pakistani people are very interested to know about people and nation of Iran."
The young Pakistani politician added on one hand, Pakistan has unique natural beauties and on the other hand, the Islamic Republic of Iran has places which are rich in history and antiquity.
In this regard, with careful planning and the provision of the necessary facilities by the two countries, the people of Iran and Pakistan can enhance tourism in the two countries.
Director of Iranian Cultural Center in Lahore Jafar Ronas said the cultural roots between the two countries are much more colorful than the political and economic roots.
"Considering the rich capacities that exist between the two neighboring and brotherly countries of Iran and Pakistan both countries can achieve common cultural goals in the region,” he said.
Speaking about decades-old cultural and artistic activities of Khana-e-Farhang in Lahore, he said "we have tried to act as a bridge between Iran and Pakistan during these years. In this regard, various programs were organized thorough cooperation of cultural organizations and institutions in Lahore."
Explaining the governmental structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said after the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini, religious democracy was established in Iran through referendum.
He said the Iranian people elect the president and members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly by direct vote after four years.
