South African president congratulates Iran president-elect

Tehran, IRNA – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in a message congratulated Iran's President-elect Ebrahim Raisi on his victory in the 13th Presidential election.

In his message, Ramaphosa said Pretoria is ready to establish cooperation with Tehran.

He lauded holding calm and successful election in Iran.

President Ramaphosa noted that South Africa considers Iran as a strategic trade partner in West and Central Asia.

Iran has supported South Africa's fight to achieve freedom, he reiterated.

South Africa is ready to cooperate with Iran aiming to reinforce bilateral, regional and international ties, President Ramaphosa said.

Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi was announced on Saturday as the winner of the June 18 presidential election in Iran, scoring 17,926,345 of votes.
