Zarif and Borrell met while they were in Antalya, Turkey, to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2021.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, who arrived in Turkey yesterday, has so far met Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Husayn, Afghanistan’s Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah, and former Afghan foreign minister Salahuddin Rabbani.
Iran and EU along with China, France, Germany, Russia, and the UK are amidst intensive talks being held in Vienna for the possible return of the US to the 2015 nuclear deal which was disrupted by Washington's withdrawal in 2018.
The US has indirectly participated in the talks.
