Tehran, June 11, IRNA – Iran’s National Olympics Committee Head Reza Salehi Amiri said in a meeting with Greek public sport official that Tehran and Athens could have good cooperation and interaction in some sport fields.

Salehi Amiri who has traveled to Greece, met Greek Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport and public sport official Eleftherios Avgenakis on Friday to discuss cooperation in sport-related issues. Both sides emphasized signing a memorandum of understanding in this regard.

He said that Iran and Greece can cooperate in areas like education, holding joint camps and exchanging trainers and experts.

The Greek official welcomed Salehi Amiri's proposal of signing a MoU and cooperating in the areas he suggested. He also suggested preparing a list of sport fields as a basis of cooperation between the two countries.

Avgenakis expressed great desire to visit Iran, as it was his childhood wish as he said. Salehi Amiri, in turn, invited the Greek official to pay a visit to Iran in September.
