Shiraz, June 3, IRNA – The Interior Minister of Tajikistan Ramazan Rahimzadeh arrived in Fars Province capital city of Shiraz on Wednesday evening aimed at broadening Dushanbe-Shiraz cooperation.

Rahimzadeh was received at Martyr Dastqeib International Airport of Shiraz by Fars Province Governor General Enayatollah Rahimi.

The Tajik interior minister is accompanied in this visit by a delegation of his country, and also the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic and Development Affairs Babak Dinparast.

Fars Province Governor General Rahimi said at the reception ceremony of the Tajik minister: The shared language, cultural and civilizational background of our two nations and countries pave the path for further development of cooperation between the two countries and our two cities.

The Fars province and Tajikistan can have cooperation in such fields as tourism, industries, mining, and agricultural activities, and this this visit can greatly contribute to materializing cooperation in those fields, further reiterated Rahimi.

Tajikistan’s interior minister arrived in Tehran on Tuesday May, 1, aimed at talking with Iranian officials and negotiating on bilateral issues, as well as campaign against terrorism and extremism.
Rahimzadeh had on Tuesday met and conferred with his Iranian counterpart Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli on issues of mutual interest.

The two countries’ interior ministers at the end of the meeting signed a memorandum of cooperation.

According to that agreement, Iran and Tajikistan will have broader cooperation in campaign against organized crime, extremism and terrorism, narcotic drugs trafficking, training of police forces, exchange of experience, exchange of university students and professors, and also making greater investments in commercial and trade activities.

He also met the commander of Iranian disciplinary forces in Tehran, General Hossein Ashtari.
