During his stay in Moscow Zarif is expected to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
This is the 30th visit to Moscow by Zarif as Iranian foreign minister over the past seven years.
It was just a month ago that the foreign ministers of Iran and Russia met for the last time.
