Official says Iraqi consulate closure in Mashhad just rumor

Mashhad, Oct 1, IRNA - Deputy for Political, Social and Security Affairs of the Governor-General of Khorasan Razavi Province Hassan Ja'fari dismissed the media reports pertaining to the closure of the Iraqi consulate in Mashad, adding that the issue is merely a rumor.

The official added that the media reports suggesting beating of Iraqi nationals in Mashad is a rumor.

On Tuesday, some media in cyberspace announced that the Iraqi Foreign Ministry has suspended its consulate in Mashad after beating two Iraqi diplomats.
