The first flight from Tajikistan to Iran will be conducted on June 6 by the Iranian Varesh Airlines that will use its Boeing 737-500 airplane with a capacity for 120 passengers. "Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) submitted all the necessary documents to resume passenger flights by Varesh Airlines. We received those documents and allowed that flights be realized between [the northeastern Iranian city of Mashahad to the Tajik capital of Dushanbe and vice versa," said Aziz Nabizade, deputy director of Tajik governmental Civil Aviation Agency.

The private company, Varesh Airlines, was established in 2018 and carried out its first flight between Tehran to Sari, the provincial capital of Mazandaran on October 9 last year.
One-way ticket costs some $250 and return flights will be some $395, according to Almas Sharq (Eastern Diamond, in Persian), the official representative of Varesh Airlines in Tajikistan.
"Currently, there will be only one return flight per week," said Almas Sharq General Director Abulreza Mohammadi, who expressed hope that Tajikistan flag carrier Tajik Air also resume flights that connect the two countries' capitals.
Flights from Mashhad to Dushanbe and vice versa used to be conducted by the Iranian company Asseman Airlines that stopped the service October last year due to "economic problems".
