Tehran, April 18, IRNA – Iran celebrates National Army Day on Thursday with military parades and display of defense hardware in different parts of the country.

The Army put to display its recent products and achievements of defense industry including the domestically-developed drones, rockets, launchers, rocket-launching, robots, Humvee
personnel-carrier vehicles to the battlefield, machine guns, tanks, transport vehicles and Iranian made Talash and Russian-made S300 missile systems.

Units of Iran Army’s Ground Forces, Navy, Air Force and Khatam al-Anbya Air Defense Base took part in the parades, which were hold almost all over the country.

Army forces have been busy in relief operations providing tents for large population of people in the flood-hit areas across the country. The Army Commander Abdurrahim Mousavi said that those forces have been doing their duty by taking part in humanitarian services instead of the parades.

President Hassan Rouhani reviewed the parade in presence of top military commanders of the Army and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps held near the Mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, southern Tehran.

In this year’s celebrations, the domestically-built Kowsar and Saeqeh jet fighters featured an aerial performance, along with MiG-29, F-4 Phantom and F-14 Tomcat warplanes.
