Islamabad, April 11, IRNA - Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday arrested most wanted terrorist belonging to banned Jundullah terrorist organization in southern city of Karachi, local media reported.

According to details the police also confiscated suicide jackets and two hand grenades from terrorist Ishaq alias Gul.

Reports say the terrorist reached Karachi after entering Pakistan’s Balochistan from Afghanistan.

Incharge of Karachi Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Raja Umar Khatab revealed that Jundullah affiliate came to Karachi to carry out a major terrorist activity in the city. He said Ishaq joined Jundullah in 2006 and was trained in Afghanistan.

Ishaq was wanted by the Pakistani police in different cases of attacks on law enforcing agencies, kidnapping for ransom and bomb blasts.

Police say Ishaq fled to Afghanistan after an encounter with police in 2008. According to police many of his accomplices are serving their sentences in jails.

Earlier the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Necta) had proscribed Jundullah for terrorist attacks in the country.
