Qom, April 9, IRNA - Iran inaugurated a national vacuum technology center on Sunday as part of a series of new nuclear projects that were launched on the National Nuclear Technology Day.

Iran’s National Center for Vacuum Technology was opened by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani through video-conference on Tuesday.

“This center, constructed on 1,500 square meters of land in Qom, includes calibration laboratories as well as coverage under vacuum and has important role in nuclear processes,” Qom Governor Bahram Sarmast said.

The Iranian official praised the visible progress made in the country’s nuclear industry.

Each year Iran celebrates April 9 (Farvardin 20, according to the Iranian calendar) as the National Nuclear Technology Day in a bid to commemorate Iranian scientists’ advancement.
