Addressing a joint press briefing after holding a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Monday, she said that strength of our societies lies in their diversity and attack on any segment of the society is an attack on entire society.
“For European Union and all member states it is priority to make sure that Islamophobia doesn’t find any place in European Union,” she said.
Mogherini on the occasion strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Christchurch mosques that left 50 people dead.
She added that the EU was present at the OIC last meeting to talk on the Islamophobia and obviously we are more than willing to cooperate with our partners not only in the OIC but also in UN framework and to not only to stop Islamophobia but any kind of attacks on anybody special on the basis of his or her religion or belief.
Mogherini is in Pakistan to attend the fourth round of Strategic Dialogue between Pakistan and the European Union.
