The newspaper added Wednesday that Iran and Syria have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on road and urban development, and the Ministry of Road and Urban Planning of Iran is ready to cooperate with the Syrian parties on reconstruction, the establishment of residential complexes at the lower costs, roads and bridges and infrastructure.
According to the report, the Damascus government has agreed with Iran to establish Syrian-Iranian companies to build residential complexes and to work with Iranian companies on study, designing, planning and executing construction and services projects.
Al- Thawrah wrote that the Russian side will also have a large share in the reconstruction and housing services and strengthen cooperation with Syrian companies in the field of transfer of industries related to these fields and will try to introduce and indigenize new technologies in these fields, in particular, destruction, excavation and disposal of the waste materials, recycling in Syria, and will provide engineering equipment.
The Syrian housing sector and Russian companies have also agreed with the Russian companies in implementing the joint project (engineering units) in the city of Al-Dimas in the northwest of Damascus, and the Syrian side has paid special attention to the use of the experience of Russian experts for modernizing producing centers and indigenizing them to meet the domestic needs of the country, especially in the reconstruction phase of Syria.
During the 2018 visit, Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri saidn nine documents and one memorandum of understanding between the two countries were signed.
A cooperation agreement on Geomatics in the field of mapping, memorandum on cinematic cooperation, document on implementing plan in the field of education, memorandum on cooperation in combating money laundering and financing of terrorism, memorandum on cooperation in housing and public services, the memorandum of cooperation on rail cooperation, memorandum of understanding on promoting joint investments, MoU on Cooperation on holding exhibitions were signed by the two authorities in the presence of the First Vice President of the Republic of Iran and the Prime Minister of Syria.
