Tehran, Aug 5, IRNA – Ahmad Araqchi, vice-governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) for forex affairs, has been arrested and sent to jail, Iran's Judiciary spokesman Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei said on Sunday.

Araqchi has been reportedly dismissed by the newly-appointed CBI governor.

Speaking in a televised speech, Mohseni Ejei said that an employee in one of the presidential departments, along with four middlepersons and a money broker have also been arrested on economic charges.
