Tehran, Sep 5, IRNA - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said Tuesday that cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria, Russia and Resistance front is now bearing fruits.

Shamkhani made the remarks in a meeting with the Russian President s special envoy for Syrian Affairs Alexander Lavrentiev in Tehran on Tuesday.

Referring to remarkable achievements of coalition in fight against Daesh in Syria, he said at this juncture all countries and political groups should respect Syria's national sovereignty, Shamkhani said.

Commitments of all sides in resolving the issue through Syrian-Syrian solution and observing the rights of Syrian nation in determining their fate without interference of foreigners will prepare the grounds for putting an end to the current crisis, he said.

Iran's first priority in the region is the restoration of stability and security and complete annihilation of terrorism, Shamkhani said.

Other countries should help prevent influence of terrorism which will backfire and will insecure their own countries, he said.

The Russian envoy, for his part, brief Shamkhani of the latest developments in Syria and underlined the significant role of Iran, Russia and Syria in fight against terrorism.

'Moscow will remain committed to its pledges and is to continue fight against Daesh, Al-Nusra Front and other related groups,' he said.
