Tehran, July 10, IRNA -- Head of Nigerien parliamentary friendship group with Iran Masani Couroni expressed hope that by opening Niger embassy in Tehran by the end of year 2017 the two countries would witness strengthening cooperation between themselves.

In a meeting with head of Iran’s parliamentary friendship group with Niger Mehdi Farshadan here on Monday, the Nigerien MP said that Iran, as an Islamic state, has had special position in Niger’s foreign policy and always we took steps toward strengthening friendly ties with Iran.

He said that Niger is an active member of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and solidarity of the Islamic states is among its priorities.

The Nigerien parliamentarian appreciated Iran supports for Nigerien people and added that his country interested to strengthen its cooperation with Iran in the fields of sanitation, academic and mine.

The lawmaker condemned recent Tehran terrorist attacks and offered his condolences for martyrdom of a number of people to members of Majlis deputies and Iranian people.

The Iranian legislator Farshadan said the Islamic states by cooperation and collaboration with each other may play noticeable role in taking effective decisions in international circles to benefit Islamic countries.

He added that Iran has special view on African continent, including Niger, and said that the two countries have friendly relations for more than three decades, which could be suitable support for development of mutual ties.

Given to effective role of parliamentary friendship groups in accelerating and facilitating friendly ties between countries, Iranian parliamentary friendship group is ready for reciprocal cooperation with Nigerien deputies.

Farshadan pointed to capacities of the two countries in different fields to develop the existing relations and said that Iran is ready to develop its ties in the fields of trade, economic, sanitation and culture with Niger and parliamentary friendship group of Iran is supporting strengthening of mutual ties.
