Chabahar, Sistan-Baluchestan province, May 18, IRNA – German charge d'affaires Marian Schuegraf on Wednesday predicted that Berlin-Tehran relations would be expanded in trade, political and economic fields.

Schuegraf made the remarks in a meeting with Sistan-Baluchestan Governor General Ali Osat Hashemi.

She said the two sides should enhance transparency in fostering mutual relations, adding thanks to vast opportunities of Chabahar Port city, German economic activists could make investment in this region.

She said the German investors should become familiar with Chabahar's capabilities.

Schuegraf is visiting Sistan-Baluchestan province to attend the first meeting of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) free trade zones authorities.

Chabahar Free Trade Zone will be introduced to foreign investors at the first meeting of IORA free trade zones authorities.

Chabahar Free Trade Zone will be introduced to foreign investors during the two-day meeting to be inaugurated on May 19.

The meeting will mainly focus on development of trade and economic relations among member states, establishment of IORA secretariat as well as ties with non-IORA free trade zones.

IORA, an international organization of coastal states bordering the Indian Ocean, is a regional forum bringing together representatives of governments, business and academia, for promoting cooperation and forging closer interaction among them.
