Mashad, March 17, IRNA – Painting and Friendship Exhibition of Afghan and Iranian school students was inaugurated in Mehmanshahr Afghan refugee camp on Wednesday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Afghan Consul General in Iran and a number of Iranian authorities from Khorasan Razavi Province.
Seventy paintings drawn by 35 afghan and 35 Iranian students under 17 were showcased in the exhibition.
Addressing the Afghan refugees in Iran, the Consul-General said his country is now prepared to welcome back home the Afghan migrants residing in other countries with the aim to accelerate Afghanistan’s reconstruction process.
The capabilities of Afghan youth and young adults who have taken refuge in other countries in fields of arts and painting can help establish lasting peace and tranquility in Afghanistan, said Seyd Nourollah Raghi.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Director General of the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants of Khorasan Razavi Province said that there are many talented Afghan youth in the camp whose aptitudes have flourished with the help of the Islamic Iran.
The exhibition is being held in the Afghan refugee camp, 5 kilometers from Torbat-e Jam city in the northeastern province of Khorassan Razavi for one week.
Some 4,000 Afghan refugees live in Mehmanshahr camp.
Thousands of Afghan refugees have already returned to their country after obtaining required capabilities.
Torbat-e Jam with a population of 270,000 people and 167 kilometers southeast of Mashhad, has common borders with Turkmenistan on the northeast and with Afghanistan on the east.
