Tehran, July 14, IRNA - Afif-Abad Garden, extending over an area of over 127,000 square meters, is one of the most beautiful historical gardens in Shiraz, Fars province. The garden, which was planned in 1863 and also known as 'Golshan Garden', was used as a promenade during the Safavid reign. Afif-Abad Garden actually symbolizes Iranian floriculture.

According to the Tehran-basrd English newspaper 'Iran Daily', the garden is located in an affluent area of Shiraz. It contains a royal palace, a museum of ancient armaments and a Persian garden. It was registered as No. 913 on the National Heritage List.

The manor house has two floors with nearly 30 chamber halls.

There are two carved marble fireplaces in the north and south of the hall. The lower floor is now a military museum and a beautiful fountain has been built there. This floor leads to the second floor through three stairs.

The second floor has a long corridor with rooms along both sides. There is a magnificent large hall at the center of this floor.

It has a wooden ceiling decorated with images of flowers, plants, hunting preserves and festivity. Ebrat Museum (Edification Museum) is located on this floor.

The garden blends the architectural features of the Achaemenid, Sassanid and Qajar eras.
